I started out in the motor industry at the young age of 16 whilst attending Sunward Park high School, working for my mom and elder brother Calvin I found my calling to become a successful entrepreneur. I studied LLB law for 3 years and due to financial problems could not finish my law degree however this did not stop me from chasing my dreams. I left the family business with key skills in business and joined a major motor insurance company as a qualified motor assessor and later becoming a region team leader and key operations manager. After spending considerable time with a life coach, I decided to once again test my people skills in a different industry and I joined a small export packaging company which I became a Director of and grew the business from strength to strength from a team of 8 to a team of 92 in 5 years and remain a Director to date. In 2018 at the age of 33, I partnered with Carel Van Der Merwe to form Charly’s care to assist people with similar needs to my brother Calvin and ensure that not only him, but everyone in the disabled community has access to transportation when required. As a small business start-up, we intend to bring a greater good to the disabled community as a whole in affordable home care and transportation for patients and family members in need.
